SOUND OF SUMMER
Breach, in partnership with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, invites children entering grades 3-12 to participate in the Sound Of Summer Music Camps starting in June 2021. This no-cost camp series places the power of creating music into the hands of each camp participant as they explore composer, musician, music producer, and more.
Through the three age-appropriate summer camps, participants will have access to SLSO musicians and the opportunity to work with leading music industry professionals.
No formal music training is required, but love for music of any genre is a plus.
All 3 camps are completely virtual and capacity is limited.
Accepted campers will be notified on June 4th.

At SLSO SoundLab Summer Camp, campers will curate their own Golden Record filled with sounds and self-composed music representing life here on Earth. This hands-on experience for children entering grades 3-5 puts campers in creative control. We’ll connect and learn from SLSO musicians, explore the instruments of the orchestra, and assume the roles of composer and musician as we collaboratively create and produce music.
Ignite your child’s creativity this summer in blendLAB! This fun and rewarding online music camp for youth grades 6-8 will bring new friends and new skills. Focusing on the creative process through the fusion of different cultures and genres, participants will strengthen their collaborative work skills, problem solving, public speaking, creative storytelling, and researching skills by creating and sharing their very own music compositions.
Working in small groups, participants will create their own “Music House” where they will collaborate through the composition and production of music for film or TV. Through the guidance of industry professionals, participants will explore the creative process and learn how to work with musicians, music publishers, and other professionals. Participants will also learn how to protect intellectual property through copyright and licensing.
